November 16-22 - Alpha tour in Russia

Alpha gave 3 concerts in Novgorod and Skt. Petersborg with great succes. The contemporary music festial Sound Ways re-invited Alpha for this years festival and the ensemble world premiered 5 new works written for Alpha and performed Alpha's own music.

October 17 & 18 - Alpha/Kammerer Project

Alpha in concerts with NYC based jazz-saxophonist Stephan Kammerer and NYC based jazz-pianist Vadim Neselovskyi. In 2007 the group met and played concerts in NYC and finally the project could be heard in Denmark. The concerts are supported by Danish Arts Council, DaNY-Arts.

August 23 - Alpha, Frederiksdal Castle

Alpha gave a concert at the beautiful Frederiksdal castle. This was a unique event in a very special place with a history of its own. Candle-lights accompagnied the music, torches welcomed the audience and white wine was served in the break together with the sunset colouring the skye.

Danish composer Rune Glerup's piece Objets/Decalages written for Gáman has been chosen to be performed during UNM (Young Nordic Music) 2009 which will be held in Göteborg. At this concert 6.30pm in Berg 211, Bolette Roed will perform the piece with Bjarke Mogensen, accordion and Jakob Lund Nielsen, violin. June 20-23 - Midsummer Baroque

Arte dei Suonatori, Alpha & Allan Rasmussen in Frederiksberg church

"Midsummer Baroque" was a great succes. The Polish baroque orchestra Arte Dei Suonatori www.artedeisuonatori.pl was in charge of the music together with French soloists Alexis Kossenko on traverso and Emmanuel Balssa on viola da gambe. Danish soloists were Allan Rasmussen, harpsichord and organ and Bolette Roed on recorder. Danish trio Alpha participated on the festival's last concert in collaboration with Arte Dei Suonatori. It was 4 fantastic days with beautiful music of Handel, Telemann, Bach, Purcell, Vivaldi ect.

Thank you all for coming and enjoying the concerts - we look forward to see you all again next year!

Arte dei Suonatori's lovely festival Muzyka w Raju - Music in Paradise is every year a fantastic musical adventure for musicians as well as audiences. Another lovely baroque festival with the Polish baroque orchestra, Arte dei Suonatori. Bolette Roed gave many concerts on this festival - as soloist with the orchestra she played Sammartini's recorder-concerto in F-major, Vivaldi's C-major RV 441, Baston's concert V for "sixth-flute", and two chamber concertos from Italy. Besides this Bolette gave a solorecital with music by Van Eyck, J.S.Bach, Bent Lorentzen and Ryohei Hirose. Danish harpsichordist, Allan Rasmussen did likewise appear as soloist in numerous concerts on this festival. Alpha played in the wonderful church of Vig Thursday evening and in "Ghet-huset" during the music festival of Frederiksværk's 5-o'clock concerts Friday afternoon. The renowned Swedish composer, Fredrik Österling's piece, Sarrasine, commisioned by Alpha, was world premiered Friday in Ghet-huset.

The Polish baroque orchestra - Arte dei Suonatori - were once again presenting "Händel festival" i Torun, Poland. They had invited soloists from many countries - among these Allan Rasmussen and Bolette Roed from Denmark. One could hear the two musicians on many of the festivals concerts. In J. S. Bach's harpsichord concert with two recorders, Quantz sonata for traverso and recorder, an English and Italian programme with Corelli, Händel, Stanley, Barsanti, Boni ect. and finally they both gave a solorecital. A lovely festival with the most beautiful music...

Iris could be heard playing an exciting program with music of Guillaume de Machaut on three concerts in September. Birgit Goris playing the fiddle is living in France, and she is a very sought after musician everywhere in Europe.
This was a very special opportunity to meet her and her instrument, which is very rarely presented on concert in Denmark. Poul Høxbro and Miriam Andersén are likewise very sought after - doing tourneées all over Europe, being renowned for their thorough knowledge of nordic folkmusic, medieval and renaissance music. All the members of Iris has been specialising in the music of medieval times, and these concerts were a possibility to hear this music performed on periodic instruments.

The Polish baroque orchestra, Arte dei Suonatori, held for the 3.year in a row a festival in the beautiful old monestery church Paradyz. This year Bolette was invited as a soloist on the festival, and all concerts will be send in Polish Radio. The orchestra will come to Denmark December this year, and this will give the audience in Denmark the possibility to hear these fabulous musicians at concerts in Frederiksberg Church the 2nd, 3nd and 4th of December.

Oremandsgaard Chamber Music Festival, 7:30pm

Alpha was very happy to give this concert at one of Denmark's finest Chamber music festivals. The atmosphere is exceptional, and we can strongly recommend this festival with its world class concerts, beautiful surroundings and warm atmosphere.
On Alpha's programme was two pieces by the Columbian composer Eblis Alvarez, educated from the soloist class in Copenhagen and now living in Denmark. Eblis Alvarez has written two pieces for Alpha - "El triste juego de la Polka espectral" (2005) and "Dos canciones para niños" (2004). The latter includes a soprano and guest this afternoon was mezzo soprano Maria Hanke.
This year the festival combines selectionned contemporary composer's music with specific periods or styles of music, and thus Alpha presented J. S. Bach's Solo Partita BWV 1013 as well as our own piece Jaco, arrangements of medieval music from Northern Italy and world music from Armenia and Georgia.

Once again Bolette played in the Hedeager Church. She loves the sound, the organist and the audience of the church and was very happy to be back. The concert represented the recorder, and took the audience on a travel through music history's last 700 years. The organist of the church, Kristine Nissen, accompagnied Bolette in two sonatas by Telemann and C. P. E. Bach. Besides this music by Lescurel, Van Eyck, J. S. Bach, Ib Nørholm and improvisations.

Alpha played a concert in Vanløse church Sunday the 6th of March. The audience could hear two world premieres this afternoon! "Farbentiegel II" by the Danish composer Bent Lorentzen and "El triste juego de la Polka espectral" by the Columbian composer Eblis Alvarez. Tuesday the 8th of March there was another Alpha concert in Johannes-church in Greve. At this concert there was the Danish premiere on "Trionetics" composed by Svend Hvidtfelt-Nielsen for Alpha. Besides this once again one could hear Eblis Alvarez. Finally Alpha played medieval music, world music and improvisations.

Alpha presented Denmark in the international saxophone festival "Saxophonia" in Latvia from February the 15th to the 19th. Alpha gave several concerts during the festival. November 7 - Day of the woodwind

Solo concert by Bolette Roed and subsequently a guided tour of Music Historical Museum. Throughout the Nordic countries the music historical museums focused on the woodwind instruments. The recorder and the transverse flute were presented this afternoon by museum director Lisbet Torp as well as musicians and musical instrument builders.

This evening will be the debut recital for the very exciting and talented Columbian composer, Eblis Álvarez, from the soloist class at the Royal Danish Conservatory. At the debut recital Alpha will premiere the composition "2 canciones para niños" which Eblis wrote for Alpha in 2004.

July 9-23 - Bain de lune - Bretagne

A musical story from the Midieval ages to present, from tones and words to silence.

A very succesfull series of concerts in Bretagne, where music and french poetry converged.
The concerts were held in several hundrede year old chapels in the windswept Bretagne, where stone walls told their own story in the flickering of lit candles.
The music was based on free improvisations - the poetry was by P. Claudel, R. Char, S.-J. Perse and G. Apollinaire.

March 26 - Debut recital - Garnison's church - 8 pm

For the debut recital the piece "Viste Sueños” premiered - an own order for recorder and electronics by the composer Ejnar Kanding.
Playing as a duo with accordion player James Crabb the piece "Grind" by Lars Graugaard was performed - a piece premiered and dedicated to the duo in 2002.
Recorder Trio Paradox, with Dan Laurin, Susanna Laurin and Bolette Roed played Johann Sebastian Bach, while his son's, Carl Phillipp Emanuel, compositions were presented together with harpsichordist Allan Rasmussen.
In ensemble with the the Middle Age specialists Poul Høxbro, Miriam Andersén and Birgit Goris beautiful pieces from 13th and 14th century France and Italy were performed - fiddle, song, percussion and recorder came together as a whole.
Finally, the recorder was presented as a solo instrument in two compositions fra the 17th and 20th century, respectively - a psalm by the Dutch composer Jacob Van Eyck was contrasted by "Pastorale" by Japaneese Kikuko Masumoto.

Warm thanks to everyone who came to my debut recital and made the concert and the evening of the recital a very special event to me.

February 28 - Bolette Roed Solo concert - Frederikssund Church - 4 pm

Solo concert with focus on the recorder, where the many different recorders were presented in a program spanning from the Middle Ages over the Renaissance and Baroque to contemporary compositions. Improvisations, a Psalm from the Netherlands, a Pastoral from Japan, a Fantasy by Telemann - an atmosphere of Scotland and the Middle Age's France.

February 19 - Alpha - Lundtofte Church - 8pm

Concert with the ensemble Alpha. At the concert one could listen to compositions by F.G.Lorca, E.de Falla, J. van Eyck and C.Nancarrow/Navarro-Alonso - a Georgian folk melody, an improvisation and "Laudeamus".
