Novel recorder player’s talent is superior and expansive in an inspired debut.

“Bolette Roed’s debut recital started with a premiere, ended in the high medieval age and in between touched on both renaissance, baroque and rococo and the encore was a folk dance (…). The cards were shuffled for a maximum of diversity (…) a convincing whole: an exciting and stimulating account of the instrument’s many capacities.
And, of a fascinating and intelligent musician. Bolette Roed is not only a virtuoso; she is one with the music (…) intense and directly committed (...)

Alpha & Omega, Skt. Petersburg, Nevskoje vrémja, 11.30.2007 |

... The musicians of Alpha showed the highest class of ensemble playing during this concert marathon of the Composers House (red. in Skt. Petersborg). The three instruments sounded so much together, so that It felt like the three musicians were breathing in the same rythm (...) Alpha is cultivating some kind of psykological musicmaking - they seem to create rainbow like light bubbles - musical worlds, flowing in a stream of notes and sounds (...) the Danish ensemble were one of the most interesting meetings during the whole festival.

CD-release ***** ...music making as creative as this is very seldom seen– and so soft the mixture of recorder, saxophone and percussion can sound (...) And what an experience! The listener really feels the three musicians’ affectionate motive. They do not play together because the mixture of recorder, saxophone and percussion is the world’s most amazing drink. But because these three people like one another, understand one another, and know how to work for a common goal. A splendid project.

Alpha-waves in the Music hall, March 2007 |

The communication was intense, affectionate, funny, intelligent and carefully measured (...) With its music, Alpha puts fundamental questions about the being and meaning of music. And they answer them at the same time. Perhaps foremost by drawing on the extensive experience each of them has on their instrument. But especially by showing that time does not stand still, that music is alive and always will be created in the very moment.
Styles can in themselves be what they want. Each and every one of them, Bolette, Peter and David moves within many different styles. Alpha has its own style…
